Before & Afters - Breast Reduction
This is a 35YO lady that has been having a lot of neck and shoulder pains due to her heavy breasts. This also interfered with her activities. She desired a breast reduction.
Postoperatively you can see that we have reduced the size of her breasts and reshaped them. They are now back up on her chest and the nipples are in the appropriate position.
This procedure is done either as an outpatient procedure or overnight admission at the hospital. It is usually covered by insurance.
People are usually off work for around a week if they do office type work.

This is a 38YO lady that has been having chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her large breasts. She desired to have smaller and more uplifted breasts if possible. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction. As you can see that she had quite large breasts with a lot of drooping. Now, the breasts are uplifted and reshaped. This allows her to smaller and more fashionable clothes because her breasts are not so large. This is a procedure that can be done as an overnight admission. Insurance usually pays a good portion of this procedure.

This is a young female that is 5’4” tall and weighs 150lbs seeing us for consideration for a breast reduction. Her bra size was a 34E. She complained of daily posterior neck pain, upper intrascapular back pain, and headaches on the back of her head. She had numbness and paresthesia in the ring and little fingers of her right hand from compression from her bra straps. She underwent a three month course of physical therapy which was not helpful. The large, droopy breasts created indentations across the leading edge of the shoulder and the pulling on the trapezius muscle was responsible for the symptoms she was having. She underwent a breast reduction with free nipple grafting removing a total of 700 grams from the right breast and about 600 grams from the left. Her bra size is now a C cup. All of her symptoms have completely resolved. The breasts are nicely shaped and symmetrical. They are off her abdomen and her rashes have also resolved. She is shown preoperatively and three months post op.

This is a lady that had a gastric bypass about 6 years ago. She has lost from 270lbs to 180lbs. She had previously undergone a belt lipectomy which markedly improved the loose skin around the circumference of her torso and gave her a much more youthful feminine contour to her abdomen, flanks and buttock. Her bra size was a 38D. She complained of painful shoulders, painful shoulder grooving that improved when she took off her bra as well as headaches on the back of her head and neck daily. She got rashes beneath the bra straps which bled on occasion. Physical therapy had not been beneficial. She had large, ptotic breasts. She underwent a small breast reduction. This got her breasts back up on her chest and off of her stomach. Her neck, back, and shoulder symptoms have completely resolved. She is a large C/small D.

These are before and after photographs, two months, of a lady that saw us for consideration for a breast reduction. She is a little over 5’ tall and weighs about 120lbs. Her bra size was a 34G. She had multiple pregnancies and complained of daily posterior neck pain, bad posture, headaches, and pain between her shoulder blades. She also complained of low back pain. She actually had numbness and tingling of the ring and little fingers of her hands that got better when she took her bra off. She has shoulder indentations across the leading edge of the trapezius from her bra straps. She is now a D size and has maintained nipple sensation. Her neck, back, and shoulder symptoms have all but resolved. Her scars are about average in color but flat and soft. She has gotten a really good result.

This is a lady that has some chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her large breasts. She had some ptosis of the breasts but mainly has significant neck and shoulder pain. She wanted to be around a C cup when we finished. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction. As you can see the scars are still red but it usually takes around nine months for the scars be nearly imperceptible. All of her symptomatology has resolved and her breasts are back up on her chest. All in all she got a really nice result.This procedure is usually covered by insurance.

Preoperatively you can see the large hanging breasts and postoperatively the breasts have been reduced, re-shaped, and uplifted. She now has a much better shape and her neck and shoulder pains have been resolved.

This is a 20YO lady that has been having chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her heavy breasts. Also, she has drooping breasts and has lost the shape that she desires. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction. This has helped her neck and shoulder pain significantly and has helped the grooving that she was getting in her shoulders prior to the reduction.
At the same time, we also re-shaped her breasts and have the shape looking much better. The reduction in the breasts helps the contour of the body much slimmer. this is a procedure that insurance will often pay a good portion of.

This is a 26YO lady that has chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her large breasts. She desires a breast reduction. Breast reductions have several benefits. They significantly help neck and shoulder pains by removing the excessive weight of the breasts. It helps the patient look a lot smaller in the chest area and the breasts are reshaped and uplifted.
Breast reductions are done to make you look and feel better. Fortunately insurance will cover a good portion of this procedure. Below is a patient that desired a breast reduction. These are pre-op and 4 month post op pictures of a breast reduction with free nipple grafting. She is from the Florida panhandle. She is 5’10” tall and weighs 220lbs. Her bra size is a 38G. She has had several pregnancies. She complained of painful shoulders and shoulder grooving, upper back pain, and lower back pain. She had been involved with chiropractic care for years which was transiently helpful. Exercise was very difficult and painful. She wished a breast reduction to improve her neck, back, and shoulder pain and to facilitate exercise. She had removal of over 1,000 grams from each breast. She is extremely pleased with the results of her surgery and has had near complete resolution of her symptoms. Exercise is getting easier. She and her husband are both happy with her more appropriate size and resolution of her symptoms. Her breasts are symmetrical and have a pleasing shape. She has glandular ptosis in the lower pole and some fullness in the upper pole. The scars are flat, soft, and non-tender. All in all, she got a really nice result.

This is a 32YO lady from Destin, Florida. She desires some cosmetic improvement of her large, drooping breasts. Since she is developing grooving in her shoulders and has neck and shoulder pains, insurance will pay for a good portion of this procedure. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction as well as fat grafting to the upper poles of the breasts. She had lost all the fullness in the upper breasts because all the breast tissue was dropping below the inframammary crease.
Now the breasts are in good position with fullness in the upper poles.

These are before and after pictures of a young lady referred by her OBGYN for consideration for a breast reduction. She is 5’9” tall and weighs 240lbs. Her bra size is a 42H. Prior to her children, she was very large breasted. She complained of painful shoulder grooving, posterior neck pain and occipital headaches weekly. She had actually seen chiropractors in the past for these symptoms which were controlled as long as she continued the treatments. She had problematic rashes during the summer. She underwent a breast reduction. We were able to maintain nipple sensation on one side but not the other. She is a C cup. She has nice fullness in the upper poles and good projection. She has gotten near complete resolution of her symptomatology. She is thrilled with the results of her surgery.

This is a lady that came to see me for consideration for a breast reduction. She is 5’9” tall and weighs 175lbs. Her bra size is a 36G. As a teenager, she weighed about 130lbs. and was a DDD. Her breasts did not get appreciably larger with pregnancies. She complains of painful shoulder grooving, posterior neck pain, and occipital headaches. She had actually been treated for migraines with Imitrex. She had numbness and tingling in her hands and fingers. She had rashes beneath the breasts that were treated with over the counter preparations. The size of her breasts hindered her ability to exercise. She underwent a breast reduction with free nipple grafting removing 800-900 grams from each breast. Photographs are 2 months post operative. She has had complete resolution of her symptoms. Her bra size is a C cup. The breasts are symmetrical and nicely shaped. They are soft. Her scars remain flat and soft and are beginning to fade. She now has smaller more appropriately sized breasts, which has facilitated a more active lifestyle.

This is a 50YO lady from Destin, Florida that has been complaining of chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her large breasts. She has lost all the superior fullness of the breasts and all the breast tissue is below the inframammary fold. She wants some uplifting and more superior fullness as well as having the breasts reduced. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction with fat grafting to the upper pole of the breasts. This gave her more superior fullness. This procedure is done primarily because of the neck and shoulder pains and insurance usually helps pay a good portion of this procedure. In the pre-op pictures you can see that the breasts are quite low and the nipples are pointing inferiorly. She has lost all the superior fullness of the breasts. In her post op pictures the nipples are pointing anteriorly and the fat grafts have been placed in the upper poles of the breasts to give her more superior fullness. She now has good cleavage and her clothes fit her much better. Overall, she has gotten a nice result.

This is a 25YO lady that presented with chronic neck and shoulder pains due to her large breasts. Large breasts caused her not only pain but significantly interfered with her activities and daily living. She desired a breast reduction. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction. Post operatively we have resolved all of her neck and shoulder pains. She has gone from a DDD bra down to a D cup. She can now wear any type clothing that she desires without looking too top heavy.

This lady I had seen years earlier for consideration for a breast reduction. In the interim, she was diagnosed with right breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy followed by a breast reduction which allowed manipulation of some of the right breast tissue to fill out the lumpectomy defect. She subsequently had radiation on the right breast for cancer. She is shown preoperatively and two months postoperatively. She has more appropriate size breasts that are symmetrical in size and shape. They have good projection. Her neck, back, and shoulder symptoms are completely resolved.

This is a 25YO lady that has quite large breasts. The breasts are pulling on her neck and shoulders and causing her discomfort. She is also getting grooving in her shoulders from the bra straps. She has limitations on her activities because of the heavy breasts.
She underwent a bilateral breast reduction. The nipples are now in the appropriate position and the breasts have a good shape. The breasts are closer to the same size now. The scars will be red for about 6-9 months. Once they fade, they are barely perceptible.
