Our Procedures - Arm & Thigh Lifts

Is This You?

Do you feel uncomfortable about excess hanging skin on your upper arms or legs? Are you self-conscious about your "bat wings" or wrinkly hanging skin on the thighs? If so, then body contouring procedures like arm lifts and thigh lifts may be able to help you get the smooth, youthful-looking skin you want.

Arm Lifts

Brachioplasty, or arm lifts, are a very good procedure for getting rid of "bat wings" - the excess hanging skin in the upper arms. This hanging skin may be due to either weight loss or to changes in the skin that can lead to a loss of elasticity. This loose hanging skin does not respond well to exercise, improved skin care, or even skin tightening treatments. An arm lift is the only really effective treatment for bat wings. Fortunately, a brachioplasty is a very effective treatment, and women who have the procedure look and feel younger and much more confident in any outfit that displays their upper arms.

The Arm Lift Procedure

In an arm lift procedure, excess skin and fat is surgically removed from the upper arm. The remaining skin is tightened and sutured to give a smooth, taut upper arm. If there is excess fat in your upper arms, it can be removed at this time using liposuction, surgical excision, or sometimes both. If you have been exercising in an attempt to improve your upper arms, you will have noticed little improvement, even though you have worked hard to firm the arms. The reason for your lack of success is because there is no muscle in the skin and fat, therefore skin and fat do not respond to exercise. Immediately after having a brachioplasty, which takes around 2 hours, you will notice improvement in the size, shape and tightness of your arm.

In most cases, you should count on taking one week off from work for recovery. It may be several weeks before you can return to a strenuous exercise routine. However, the results are immediately visible, and are very long-lasting.

Thigh Lifts

Thigh lifts are procedures for getting rid of loose, wrinkly skin in the upper thighs. There are two types of thigh lifts: an inner thigh lift and an outer thigh lift. In both procedures, liposuction can be used to remove any excess fat that may be remaining. An outer thigh lift is a very successful procedure for getting rid of loose, excess skin in the outer thigh region. It is often combined with a tummy tuck (typically a belt or circumferential tummy tuck) as part of a lower body lift, which often includes a buttock lift.

Thigh Lift Procedure

An inner thigh lift may be performed as a standalone procedure to address loose excess skin in the inner thigh or in combination with other lower body lift procedures. This procedure gives less outstanding results. Although it does reduce the appearance of loose or sagging skin and many people are happy with the results, it cannot be counted on to completely correct wrinkling in the inner thigh.

In most cases, count on taking two weeks off work for recovery. It will probably be about six weeks or more before you are able to return to a more strenuous workout schedule. The results should be visible relatively soon after returning to work.
